Shipping & Delivery Policy

1. Overview

This Shipping & Delivery Policy outlines the terms, timelines, and conditions for shipping art and craft products purchased from the Raahi Roots marketplace. Our products are handmade by independent artists and artisans, and we take great care to ensure they reach you safely and on time.

2. Shipping Coverage

We currently ship to addresses within India. Our shipping partners include:

  • Delhivery
  • Blue Dart
  • India Post (for remote areas)
  • Local courier services (for select regions)

International Shipping: Currently, we do not offer international shipping. This service will be available soon.

3. Processing Time

All orders are processed within 1-2 business days(excluding weekends and public holidays). Since products are handmade, some items may require additional preparation time.

You will receive an email notification once your order has been processed and shipped, along with a tracking number.

4. Delivery Timeframes

Estimated delivery times vary based on your location and the shipping method:

Note: These are estimated timeframes and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, logistical delays, or public holidays.

5. Shipping Charges

5.1 Standard Shipping Rates

5.2 Additional Charges

  • COD (Cash on Delivery): Additional ₹30 fee applies
  • Express Shipping: Available for select locations at ₹100-₹200 extra
  • Bulky Items: Large items (furniture, large artworks) may incur additional handling charges

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

6. Order Tracking

Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with:

  • Tracking number
  • Name of the shipping carrier
  • Link to track your order
  • Expected delivery date

You can also track your order by:

  • Logging into your Raahi Roots account and visiting “My Orders”
  • Clicking the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email
  • Visiting the courier's website and entering your tracking number

7. Delivery Process

7.1 Delivery Attempts

Our courier partners will attempt delivery:

  • Up to 3 delivery attempts will be made
  • If you are unavailable, a notification will be left with contact details
  • After 3 failed attempts, the package will be returned to us
  • You may need to pay additional shipping charges for re-delivery

7.2 Delivery Verification

For security and verification:

  • An OTP (One-Time Password) may be required for delivery
  • The recipient may be asked to show ID for high-value orders
  • Signature confirmation may be required for orders above ₹5,000

7.3 Incomplete or Incorrect Address

Please ensure your delivery address is complete and accurate, including:

  • House/Building number and street name
  • Landmark (if applicable)
  • City, State, and correct PIN code
  • Contact phone number

Orders with incomplete or incorrect addresses may be delayed or returned. Additional shipping charges may apply for reshipment.

8. Packaging

We use eco-friendly, protective packaging to ensure your handmade products arrive in perfect condition:

  • Recyclable and biodegradable materials
  • Bubble wrap and foam padding for fragile items
  • Sturdy boxes for large or heavy items
  • “Fragile” labels for delicate products

9. Damaged or Lost Shipments

9.1 Damaged Products

If your order arrives damaged:

  1. Document the damage with photos immediately
  2. Report the issue within 24 hours of delivery
  3. Contact us at roots.raahi@gmail.com with your order number and photos
  4. We will arrange a replacement or full refund, including shipping costs

9.2 Lost Shipments

If your order has not been delivered within the estimated timeframe:

  • Allow 2-3 additional days for potential courier delays
  • Check your tracking information for updates
  • Contact us if there has been no update for 5+ days
  • If confirmed lost by the courier, we will issue a full refund or replacement

10. Change of Shipping Address

You can request a change of shipping address within 24 hoursof placing your order by contacting us. Once an order has been shipped, the address cannot be changed. In such cases, you may need to wait for the package to be returned to us and pay additional shipping charges for re-delivery.

11. Public Holidays and Delays

Please note that orders are not processed or shipped on Sundays and public holidays. Delivery times may be extended during:

  • Festival seasons (Diwali, Christmas, New Year)
  • Peak sale periods
  • Unforeseen circumstances (strikes, natural disasters, pandemics)

We will communicate any expected delays via email or SMS.

12. Cancellation Before Shipment

You may cancel your order before it is shipped. If canceled:

  • Before processing: Full refund within 5-7 business days
  • During processing: Subject to a 10% cancellation fee
  • After shipping: Standard return policy applies
